Web Streaming and Remote Attendance
When family and friends cannot be in the room, livestreaming allows them to be part of the service from wherever they are.
Both our Wellington chapels have it built in. Three cameras at different angles, full sound, and a private link to share with the people you choose. Our team prepares and manages the livestream for you from beginning to end.
We will explain how the private link works and make sure it reaches the people who need it.
How it works for the person watching
They get a private link. They open it at the right time and the service plays, with full video and full sound.
The stream starts before the service does and runs on after it finishes. That’s deliberate. A lot of what matters happens in the minutes either side, when people are arriving, or standing around afterwards not wanting to leave.
What’s built into our chapels
Willis Street and Johnsonville both have streaming built in, not brought in. Three cameras in each chapel, set at different angles, so what people see at home isn’t one fixed shot of the back of somebody’s head.
The same system carries the photographs and the music, so a slideshow shows up on the stream the way it shows up in the room.
Someone from our team sets everything up beforehand and remains with the livestream throughout the service, so your family can remain focused on the people in the room.
Services held somewhere else
If the funeral is at a church, a marae, or somewhere that means something to your family, we can still stream it. We work with partners who bring the equipment to the venue.
For services at another venue, we will confirm the technical requirements early and coordinate the setup with our trusted streaming partners.
The recording afterwards
The service is recorded, so anyone who missed it can watch later. People in other time zones often do exactly that rather than getting up at four in the morning.
We will explain how the recording is provided and when it will be available to your family.
